Viktoria Gkoraki is an Occupational Therapist, a graduate of the Occupational Therapy Department of TEI of Athens and a PhD candidate in the Occupational Therapy Department of the University of West Attica. Her postgraduate studies (MA) at New York University in the USA and her first 3 years of clinical work in the USA were oriented towards adult mental health. In the following 11.5 years, she specialized and worked with preschool children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, in an outpatient unit, of the Attika Children’s Psychiatric Hospital (ETHMA), while for the last 15 years he has been working in a Special Primary School. Privately, over the years, she has worked with children in a wide range of diagnoses, including syndromes, learning disabilities, and other neuro-developmental disorders. She

also has three years of teaching experience as a laboratory associate of the Occupational Therapy department, at TEI of Athens. For 25 years, she has been supervising students both in their practical and clinical training. Since 2013 she has been teaching in the Occupational Therapy department of Metropolitan College, under the auspices of Queen Margaret University, in a variety of courses relevant to the basic concepts of the occupational therapy process and occupational science. Her research interests are mainly in the field of mental health and Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families. Finally, she has participated in many conferences and seminars with main topics involving Autism Spectrum Disorders.
