22 Nov Visit of professors from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden
On October 7 and 8, 2024, the Department of Occupational Therapy of the University of West Attica welcomed the esteemed colleagues, Prof. Susanne Guidetti, Professor in Occupational Therapy and Assoc. Professor Mandana Fallahpour from the Division of Occupational Therapy at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
Prof. Susanne Guidetti presented the Karolinska Institutet to the first-year students and gave a lecture on “Participation through occupations that give a meaningful everyday life“.
Assoc. Prof. Mandana Fallahpour gave a lecture on “Loneliness among older adults and the relation to health and well-being ” and invited the first-year students to an online course co-organized by their Division. The colleagues also visited Occupational Therapy Departments in collaborating Clinical Placement organizations of the Occupational Therapy Department of UNIWA, where they had a first contact with how Occupational Therapy services are provided in Greece and where our students are trained in the context of the Clinical Practice laboratory courses.
The visit of the colleagues from Sweden took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ program with responsible the Departmental Erasmus coordinator Assist. Professor Christina Athanasopoulou, while the visit to the clinical placement organizations was coordinated by the responsible of Clinical Practice Lect. Maria Kouloumpi.
