8th Panhellenic Occupational Therapy Conference
The 8th Panhellenic Occupational Therapy Conference was held with great success, organized by the Panhellenic Association of Occupational Therapists from May 16–18, 2025, at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens. This year’s conference, themed “Human Occupation: Health and Justice in Everyday Life,” highlighted the role of occupational therapy as a catalyst for equal participation of all individuals in social and professional life, amidst the challenges of technological advancement and social inequality.
More than 900 delegates attended the conference, which featured 168 scientific presentations, including 75 oral communications and 8 workshops. The topics covered critical areas such as community-based occupational therapy, mental health, neurodevelopmental diversity, the promotion of autonomy, and the use of digital technology in clinical practice.
The presence of leading figures from the international occupational therapy community, such as Samantha Shann (WFOT) and Anu Söderström (COTEC), as well as the distinguished psychiatrist Georgios Nikolaidis, lent the conference high scientific prestige and a global outlook.
The Department of Occupational Therapy had a strong presence at the conference, with multiple contributions, scientific presentations, and announcements, reaffirming its active role in scientific progress and the advancement of occupational therapy practice in Greece.
