In the presence of the Rector of the University of West Attica, Professor Panagiotis Kaldis, the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Lifelong Learning, Professor Petros Kalantonis, and the Dean of the School of Health and Welfare Sciences, Professor Vasiliki Kefala, the event for the cutting of the New Year’s cake of the Department of Occupational Therapy took place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 17:00. The event was held at the “Periklis Lytras” Conference Center on the Alsos Egaleo University Campus as part of the department’s outreach initiatives.
The event was attended by occupational therapy professionals from various clinical settings collaborating with the department in the framework of Clinical Practice courses. Additionally, faculty members, academic fellows, and PhD candidates of the Department of Occupational Therapy supported the event with their presence.
The Rector, Professor Panagiotis Kaldis, welcomed this social gathering, acknowledging the importance of these collaborations in supporting the academic education of the students. The Vice-Rector, Professor Petros Kalantonis, and the Dean, Professor Vasiliki Kefala, also addressed the audience, extending their best wishes and expressing their support for both the event and the Department of Occupational Therapy.
In her speech, the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Ioanna-Giannoula Katsouri, welcomed the attendees, recognized the valuable collaboration in enhancing the quality of students’ education, and emphasized that students’ academic progress is not merely an individual effort but a result of collective support, solidarity, cooperation, and mutual assistance between academic and clinical settings.
Furthermore, Lecturer Maria Kouloubi highlighted the significance of clinical practice in the department’s curriculum and expressed her gratitude to colleagues for their long-standing and invaluable cooperation.
The event concluded with the cutting of the department’s New Year’s cake in the foyer of the Conference Center, providing an opportunity for further interaction and networking in a festive atmosphere.
